The Francis Marion University (FMU) Performing Arts Center, an estimated 61,000 square foot facility, houses an academic wing for the Department of Fine Arts as well as many art-related programs offered by the University.

The FMU Performing Arts Center includes a main auditorium, accommodating 900 individuals, with a fly tower and a 100-seat flexible Black Box space. The main auditorium consists of 650 seats on the orchestra level and 250 seats in the balcony and box seating. Acoustical panels and drapes on the wall and will be used to provide the best conditions possible for both live and recorded sound.

The Center also boasts the BB&T Amphitheatre and the Beverly Hazelwood and Staff Ward Garden Courtyard, which accommodates 500 individuals.

Opening Gala Weekend (Sept 2011) at the FMU Performing Arts Center featured GRAMMY Award winning songstresses Roberta Flack and Judy Collins.
