Hartsville Museum

Housed in a 1930s Post Office Building and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum has kept many of the unique architectural features of the building. The original skylight has been retrofitted with stained glass panels depicting the flora and fauna significant to the area. Permanent exhibits here include the Locomobile, S.C.'s first car, a silver collection from Eastern Carolina Silver Company, hands on exhibits about Native Americans, early hand tools, Carolina Cotton and a turn-of-the-century kitchen. The museum also serves as an interpretive center on the S.C. Cotton Trail. Added in 2000, The Sculpture Courtyard features many different types of sculpture. The Showcase Gallery presents special exhibits focusing on history, the arts or present day events. a Gallery Store offers unique gift items.
